The Artists

vorab 2007
by: Stefan Furrer

Vorab is the name of a mountain in the Swiss Alps in the Canton of Glarus where traditionally slate was mined for desktops and black boards.
A friend in Switzerland asked me to build a writing desk for him.
We designed this table together communicating via e-mail. I sent him pictures: first of a model then of the different stages in the making of the table.
The two leg pairs and the two aprons are bolted together.
Therefore the frame can be easily taken apart and shipped in a flat crate together with the tabletop.
I can build a table of this type to your specific measurements.
